Heddon is arguably the most popular fishing lure company amongst collectors and the Spin Diver is one of the reasons why. This unique lure, although relatively short-lived, is iconic for its colors, shape, style, and all around eye appeal.

This large bait (over 4 inches long) was made of wood with glass eyes, a marked propeller in the front, an inscribed diving lip, and a strange shaped tail. The bait would float while as rest, but dive with a wiggling motion when retrieved.

The colors of this bait can be quite eye catching. Colors used, but not confined to, include “goldfish scale”, “salt water flitter”, “bar perch” (pictured above).

The price of these baits are all the place right now. A “common” color in “used” condition can sell between $100 to $200 while a “rare” color in “great” condition can approach or go over $10,000. Most that I come across sell between $200 – 600.
