Late 1940s?
June 2022
I collect some true folk art lures, and this is one of my favorites.

I assume if was a fisherman's folk art copy of a Heddon Punkinseed, which came out in the early 1940s.

It features a homemade diving lip made from a piece of tin, a unique and simple paint scheme, and a heavy metal rod (maybe a modified nail) as the belly weight.

I put it in the water one day and it works surprising well.  A true classic piece of ingenuity.
