Even though this manufacturer made a few interesting lures such as the Fish Hound (a salamander-like bait), Craw Dad, Water Puppy, Sand Toad, and the Wiggle Frog (featured this month)…they are not real popular amongst collectors. It may be for a few reasons. #1) These lures are rarely found in good condition…as the paint seems to be missing on most of them that I have seen (especially with the Wiggle Frog). #2) As the black and white photo of the counter display shows (below), they had arms and legs made of some type of material. After over 4 decades of collecting fishing lures…I have yet to see one with these limbs in person. #3) Many of the baits are hard to find, with the Wiggle Frog and the Water Puppy being the most popular.

The Jumbo Wiggle Frog come in several different sizes and a few colors. They were made “by fisherman for fisherman”. “To catch fish give them true reproductions of their regular foods”, then “attach a spinner to excite their curiosity and anger”. Sounds like a bait that would work well!

The Jumbo Wiggle Frog was “a true to life, swimming, wiggling, kicking frog”. “They strike it to eat it”.

I have no doubt this frog caught fish. In fact, I may take one out this year and I am confident it will have results…even without the arms and legs on the bait.
